Yesterday the boys pretended to be vacuums while picking up Legos. They happily sang, “Suck. Suck. Suck. Suck.”
Yesterday Jonathan came in with a Veggie Tales movie and earnestly asked, “Can we watch Wedgie Tales?”.
I wanted to be mature and explain the boys’ errors. Instead I laughed and sent Jeremy texts. They are clueless. And that is priceless.
Sometimes I think God looks down on me and laughs. He hears me asking for a baby. He hears me telling Him it’s taking too long. And He laughs. Not because He doesn’t love me, but because He does. Because He sees a bigger picture and knows that one day, maybe not til Heaven, I will realize what He is doing.
Tim Keller says, “God will only give you what you would have asked for if you knew everything He knows.”
I am clueless. And that is priceless.
Father, help me to trust this waiting is grace!
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8)
