The gift of stubby toes

Sitting on the couch eating peanuts with Jonathan, I smiled at his little legs. Where my knees begin, beside me were two stubby feet with 10 short toes pointing straight up!

Will there be a day where suddenly the legs are long, and his feet touch the floor? Will I realize it’s happened or will I miss it?

I can get so caught up in the things I’m doing for the boys (good things even) that I miss the little things. “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” I’m not perfect and neither are our boys, but everything God gives us is.

Even the things that don’t seem like gifts are from him.

Even Jonathan’s stubby little toes are a “perfect gift from above,” and getting to watch him grow up is something worth celebrating.
