When I Don’t Understand

-At 9pm Sunday night I scheduled a blogpost for Monday morning.
-At 2:30 Monday morning I woke up and gave God til 3:00 if He had something He needed to say.
-At 7:15 Monday morning I took our dog for a walk and noticed some storm clouds slide in and block the sun.
-At 8:00 Monday morning my Mom called to tell me that my Uncle had unexpectedly passed away.

Does this all stink? Yes. Do I have more questions and answers? Yes. Do I want to wipe away every tear from every hurting family member? Yes. Yes. Yes.

I don’t understand. I may never. But I have faith in the faithfulness of my God. I am hopeful in the hope of a real Heaven.

The clouds sneak in and cover the sun. Is it still there? Yes. Is God here in this sudden darkness surrounding hurting family? Yes.

In that I find peace. And in His Word, the passage He pulled my heart too early Monday morning as I rubbed my sleepy eyes and squinted at His Word…they give me strength.

Psalm 61:1-4-
“Hear my cry, O God,
listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to you
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I,
for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah”
