Family Devotions (Dysfunction)

Here’s a glimpse at family devotions in our house…

Jeremy and I sit on the couch in the boys’ bedroom with Stephen and Caleb on either side. Jonathan is playing on the floor, making loud noises and distracting everyone. Jeremy reads one page from “Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing,” and we use our Compassion bookmark to pray for Jose. Caleb bounces around trying his best to be still and keep his eyes closed during prayer. Occasionally there’s the interruption with important news such as, “Daddy, did you know that your teeth are the only bones you can see?” Jeremy stifles a laugh and pushes through. I bury my face in my hands and laugh til it hurts. We put the boys to bed and pray for grace. God loves to work in dysfunction!
