That’s one of my favorite things Ann Voskamp says…”Life is not an emergency.”
I say that to myself at least once a day.
We may be moving at break-neck speed. We may skip from one thing to the next. We may feel like we’re constantly playing catch up.
But it’s only a season. A season of spilled drinks, poopy diapers, and skinned knees. A season of staying home because going out is too hard. A season of Legos in my toes and lightsabers in my face. It’s a season full of the unexpected…but it is not an emergency.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Eccl. 3:1)
God breathed this season as part of the tapestry of my life. It’s a part of His plan to show me more of Himself; to show me more of His faithfulness and His love.
God, help me to breathe deeply of it today, right now, in this moment.
“Life is not an emergency.”
