Grace for the Good Girl-Chapters 13-15

Some thoughts on chapters 13-15 from Grace for the Good Girl (only 1 week left!)…

Chapter 13-Respond
Highlighted-”Now, I hide in the completeness of Christ. I rest in his shadow. I am hidden, but not behind a paper mask of false identities and try-hard religion. Now, I am hidden in Christ: safe, secure, and complete. And when I hide in him, it is no longer I but Christ who is seen.”
Pondered-”Is it difficult for you to imagine your living as worship? Why or why not?”

Chapter 14-Remember
Highlighted-”I feel shame, so I grab a mask of productivity or strength and get to work. I completely bypass the Spirit within me. I live life on a soul and body level, basing everything I believe on what I can see, touch, taste, smell, and feel.”
Pondered-“If we don’t set our minds on truth, they will automatically be set on untruth. What is your mind’s default screen saver? Fear? Worry? Self-importance? Shame?”

Chapter 15-Safe, even when it hurts
Highlighted-“We don’t need fixing. We need healing.”
Pondered-“There is a difference between closure and healing. In the midst of your broken places, are you searching for a mask, for closure, for control? Or are you desperate for a healer?”

Summary-”You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7)
