Some thoughts on chapters 10-12 from Grace for the Good Girl…
Chapter 10-Hide and Seek
Highlighted-“First, he convinced Eve she had to do something in order to be something.”
Pondered-“Can you think of any more ‘do-to-be’ statements you have lived by in your own life? Do any of those contradict what Scripture says has already been done?”
Highlighted-“You are not accepted because you are good.
You are free to be good because you are accepted.
You are not responsible to have it all together.
You are free to respond to the One who holds all things in his hands.
You do not have to live up to impossible expectations.
You are free to wait expectantly on Jesus, the One who is both author and perfecter of your faith.”
Pondered-“What is the difference between obedience to the law and obedience to the truth?”
Highlighted-”In the midst of grief, there is no such thing as strong women of God. There is only brokenness, desperate need, and little girls in Daddy’s lap. We are not called to be strong women.”
Pondered-”Do you feel like a grown-up yet? In what ways has your perspective of time with the Lord changed as you have grown up?”
Summary-“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you.” (Col. 3:15-16a)
